Astronomy Observation Session at COMSATS University, Islamabad.
An observation session along with a lecture on Astronomy was organized by Pak Astronomers Islamabad, in COMSTATS University, Islamabad, on 5th December, 2019. The session was attended by students and teachers of the Physics department, as well students from all other faculties of the University.
COMSATS University is one of the leading institutes of Islamabad, it has over 5000 students, in various campuses all across the country. Islamabad Campus is located just east of the city and is one of the largest campuses for any university. The event was organized as a lecture as well as an observation session. During this observation students were able to get a hands-on experience with advanced goto telescopes owned by the member of Pak Astronomers.
A guest lecture session was also conducted. The talk was delivered by Khawar Ali Sher. During his talk, Khawar emphasized how Astronomy has always played a crucial role in keeping humans curious and inspiring us to achieve greater heights. After the lecture, a frank question answer session followed. Astronomy lectures have become a regular feature of the events that are held by Pak Astronomers, as well as the Islamabad Astronomy Society.
